Milesa Cepe

Milesa (she/her) is a dedicated Clinical Psychologist committed to helping individuals navigate the complexities of the human experience. With a firm belief that mental health is the foundation of a fulfilling life, Milesa blends clinical expertise with a warm, grounded approach to foster a safe, non-judgmental space for growth. She is committed to inclusive practice and provides a culturally safe environment for individuals from all walks of life.

Clinical Expertise & Approach

Milesa earned her Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology from the University of Canterbury. Her heritage is rooted in Davao City, Philippines, and migrating to the West Coast of New Zealand at a young age has shaped her into a bicultural practitioner. This lived experience allows her to bring a unique perspective to her work, offering a deep empathy for the nuances of identity and the diverse cultural contexts her clients navigate. Milesa is a rainbow-friendly ally and is passionate about supporting those exploring their sense of belonging.

In her practice, Milesa predominately utilises Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), and Metacognitive Therapy (MCT). Her primary clinical interests include:

  • Trauma & PTSD: Processing distressing life events and building safety.

  • Relationship Difficulties: Navigating interpersonal dynamics and communication.

  • Eating-Related Issues: Supporting a healthier relationship with food and body image.

  • Anxiety-Related Issues: Managing the cycle of worry, panic, and avoidant behaviours.

  • Emotional Regulation & Identity: Helping clients navigate sense-of-self and align their lives with their core values.

  • Supervision for Health Professionals: Offering a reflective and supportive space for clinicians to develop their skills, navigate complex cases, and maintain their own wellbeing within their practice.

Life Outside the Clinic

Milesa believes in practicing what she preaches when it comes to wellbeing. Outside of her professional work, her life is shared with her partner, their young toddler, and an extremely large dog who ensures there is never a quiet moment.

To recharge, Milesa heads outdoors to soak up the New Zealand landscape or hits the gym. She values the mental clarity and grit that physical challenge provides, finding that staying active is essential to showing up fully for both her clients and her family.
